Dr. Nehama Lewis

Dr. Nehama Lewis is a lecturer of communication at the University of Haifa, Israel. During her doctoral studies she was a research fellow in the Center for Excellence in Cancer Communication Research (CECCR) at the University of Pennsylvania (2007-2010). Following her doctoral studies, she was a visiting assistant professor (research) at the Community-Based Intervention Research Group (C-BIRG) at Florida International University (2010-2012). Her research interests are health communication, information engagement, persuasion, and message effects. Dr. Lewis’ recent research focuses on information seeking and substance use (cannabis and amphetamines) among young adults. Her articles have been published in leading communication journals including the Journal of Communication, the Journal of Health Communication, Health Communication, as well as Patient Education and Counseling.
